Modern lithium-ion batteries do more than power forklifts. Their battery management systems can generate telematics about usage, charging and operating conditions. MHI’s Advanced Energy Council highlights the opportunity to use this data to understand fleet behavior, improve charging discipline and support better equipment management. For multi-shift fleets, energy data can become part of the operating strategy rather than only a maintenance record.
