How to assess warehouse automation readiness
Seven areas to review before investing in AGVs, robotics, AS/RS or other warehouse automation.

Start with the process, not the machine. Review: 1) inventory and master-data accuracy, 2) order history and demand variability, 3) throughput and service targets, 4) labor and error costs, 5) floor, ceiling, aisle, power and network constraints, 6) integration with WMS/ERP, and 7) team readiness and ownership. A phased pilot is often a safer first step than a full-site rollout. The objective is to automate a process that is already understood, then measure results against a clear baseline.
